The Threats & Opportunities Report gives manufacturers, distributors, and reps a powerful lens into customer movement — showing exactly where new growth is emerging and where business may be slipping away. By monitoring account changes within your point-of-sale data, this report transforms static sales data into actionable insight.
When you open the Threats & Opportunities section, you’ll see two key dimensions of customer activity: New Accounts and Lost Accounts. These categories help you understand which customers have started buying in the most recent twelve months, and which have gone inactive after prior engagement.
The report makes it easy to move beyond assumptions. With clear, data-driven visibility into customer turnover, your teams can identify early signs of growth or decline — reaching out before opportunities are lost or competitors step in.
Key metrics include:
• New Accounts: Customers appearing in the current 12-month period but not in the previous one, along with first purchase date and year-to-date sales.
• Lost Accounts: Customers who purchased in the previous 12 months but not in the current period, including the date last sold and total lost sales value.
• Down Accounts: Customers with significant year-over-year declines in purchases, highlighting emerging risk.
• Customer Tracker: Monthly trend view showing when each account started or stopped buying.
At the top of the report, a consolidated List View provides a quick summary of all new, lost, and down accounts. Each customer is clearly flagged and color-coded, allowing teams to scan for issues and opportunities at a glance.
For deeper context, selecting any company reveals a detailed view — including historical sales, purchase timing, and the option to assign follow-up responsibility directly within your organization.
